Atypical presentation and etiology of left-sided portal hypertension.

Recently, we encountered a unique case of left-sided portal hypertension (LSPH) and found the review published in your journal relevant. The following case has been presented in order to highlight the atypical symptoms and etiology of LSPH not outlined in the review .A 60-year-old white male was referred directly to the gastrointestinal laboratory for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (EGD) to evaluate persistent nausea of 1-month duration. He reported post-prandial nausea, abdominal bloating, diarrhea and flatulence unrelieved by oral raniti-dine 300 mg daily.
