Alcohol abuse as possible cause for a holiday heart syndrome and coma [Alkoholabusus als m?gliche ursache eines holiday-heart-syndroms und tiefer bewusstlosigkeit]

A 29 year old man was found comatose (Glasgow coma scale 3), hypoxic and with a tachyarrhythmia in his room. After intubation the patient developed circulatory disturbance and a cardioversion was performed. As possible reasons of the coma an alcohol induced seizure as well as a hemodynamic disturbance due to a holiday heart syndrome were discussed. The patient was extubated at the same day without a neurological deficit.
