Castlemaine Goldfields drilling improves chances for new gold discovery

Castlemaine Goldfields has reported new successes in its exploration efforts to discover new gold resources at Castlemaine. The company's March quarter report revealed drilling on the Chewton anticline at Castlemaine had continued to produce evidence supporting the potential for a Wattle Gully type discovery. Wattle Gully was the last major gold mine in the Castlemaine area. Castlemaine Goldfields said the strike length of fault reef quartz could now be seen over at least 400 metres, and the drilling had produced more high-grade gold intersections. In addition, regional structural drilling at Castlemaine North had generated promising new drill targets.
