Surfactant-Free Fluoro-Functional Core/Shell Latex

摘要

The hydrophobic properties of fluoro-functional coatings derived from dispersions can be compromised by the presence of surface-active compounds,required as stabilisers/micelle formers in conventional emulsion polymerisation.Here the preparation of emulsifier-free,core/shell latex particles containing the fluoro groups exclusively in the shell phase is described,thereby favouring stratification on film formation.Initially polyMMA seed latex was prepared,using APS as initiator such that in situ formed oligomers stabilised the dispersion.
