Optical study of the annealing behaviour of the 3107 cm~(-1) defect in natural diamonds

The annealing behaviour of the hydrogen-related 3107 cm~(-1) defect has been studied by infrared spectroscopy. The defect displays complex annealing behaviourin some cases the absorption strength can initially increase and then decrease on subsequent annealing sequences, while in most cases a continuous decrease is observed.
