HITTING THE BEACH: BAE, Iveco team up on amphibious personnel carrier for U.S. Marine program

The U.S. Marine Corps is looking for a few good amphibious personnel vehicles. And BAE Systems and Iveco Defence Vehicles have teamed up to try and deliver them. The BAE and Iveco duo is one of four industry teams selected by the Marines to build prototypes of a Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC) with contracts worth about $3.5 million each. Others providing prototypes are being developed by teams from Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics Land Systems and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC). The prototypes will go through a series of tests - both on land and in water - before one is chosen.
