BorgWarner has announced that its new B series turbo-chargers will be used on the new Mercedes-Benz 12.8 L six-cylinder, inline Blue Efficiency Power diesel. With outputs of 415 to 502 hp, the engines are among the first in their class to meet the upcoming Euro 6 emissions standards, Daimler AG said. To meet growing demand in the U.S., BorgWarner is also supplying its turbochargers to Daimler's EPA10 compliant diesels that are used in Freightliner commercial trucks. To meet Daimler's demands for system robustness and durability, BorgWarner's B series turbocharger has an asymmetric twin scroll turbine housing that is designed to improve efficiency, durability, with excellent sealing attributes even in the harsh working environments encountered in heavy-duty on- and off-road applications, BorgWarner said.
