THREE LAYERS A CHARM FOR MOD: Custom rotomolding company's new fuel tank earns EPA, CARB certifications

Arotomolded three-layered fuel tank developed by Meese Orbitron Dunne Co. (MOD) has earned EPA and CARB certification for fuel vapor permeation from tanks in marine, lawn and garden equipment and other nonroad and stationary applications. The tank, which is being produced at the company's Ashtabula, Ohio, facility, incorporates two layers of polyethylene separated by a barrier layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH). The tank is rotationally molded in a single piece and can be designed to fit nearly any size, shape or space, the company said.
