Cat launches 250 ton 793F and 400 ton 797F mine haul trucks

Caterpillar continues to build on its F series mine haul trucks with the recent introduction of the 793F and 797F mine haul trucks. The 793F has a 250 ton capacity and is in its fifth generation, first introduced in 1991. The 797F is Cat's flagship truck and largest, with a 400 ton pay-load capacity. It is in its third-generation, initially launched in 1998. The new 793F and 797F mine haul trucks are two of six mine haul trucks Cat produces in 100 to 400 ton pay-load capacities. Cat offers a mix of ac electric drive trucks and mechanical drive trucks. By making trucks available in both drive options, Cat said it is able to offer a truck for every application whether it's uphill, downhill, extreme or unique conditions. The 793F and 797F models are mechanical drive and have operating weights of 329,220 to 617,913 lb., depending on configuration.
