THE TENNESSEE WALKER OF MACHINES? Fourth generation Yanmar ViO series excavators put increased emphasis on smooth, quiet operation
While it began its engine manufacturing business more than 90 years ago, Yanmar Co. Ltd., Osaka, Japan, also has a long history in construction equipment. It introduced its first diesel-driven tractor in 1967 and since then has expanded its equipment line to wheel loaders, material carriers and excavators. At the heart of this lineup is what Yanmar calls a range of "true" zero tail swing excavators, the ViO series. Now in its third - and soon to be fourth - generation, the ViO series is comprised of seven compact excavator models with operating weights ranging from 3704 to 17,640 lb. The seven models include the ViO15-2, ViO20-3, ViO27-3, ViO35-3, ViO40-3, ViO50-3 and, the largest in the lineup, the ViO75-A.
