The BSD is a rubber-tracked dozer engineered with the speed of a motor grader and the flotation of a crawler dozer. It is designed to grade and doze at a quicker rate than conventional crawlers and has an 18 mph travel speed. "The development of the 764 was primarily driven by customers wanting solutions to everyday problems they face on their jobs that cannot be overcome by current machine forms," said Scott Bayless, product consultant-high-speed dozer at John Deere Construction & Forestry. "Something as simple as tracking a machine across a finished road produces a challenge that usually ties up several resources that can otherwise be performing productive work."
