German Aftertreatment Specialist Looks To Expand In U.S. Market

Using a recent approval of its technology by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as a springboard, a German exhaust aftertreatment specialist is looking to increase its presence in the U.S. markets. Huss Umwelttechnik, the evolution of a company that has been a supplier of exhaust emissions reduction systems since the 1980s, has received Best Available Technology (BAT) Level 3+ verification from CARB for its MK active regeneration system technology. Level 3 verification requires a soot collection rate of at least 85% and Huss indicated the MK system is rated to remove 99% of particulates from the exhaust stream. In addition, the company said that the MK system also complies with new regulations for secondary emissions during regeneration. The CARB approval covers on-highway and off-road applications up to 670 hp.
