Together for '07 - Completion of USD150 million investment at Hagerstown, Md., plant brings Mack and Volvo engine production under one roof for 2007
AB Volvo has completed its USD150 million investment at its Hagerstown, Md., production facility for both Mack- and Volvo-branded engines and transmission products. The new facility opens its doors as the Volvo Powertrain Center of Excellence for North America and will be the hub for the company's 2007 engine production. Aligning the facility for production of both Mack- and Volvo-branded engines was vital, said Sten-Ake Aronsson, senior vice president, Volvo Powertrain North America. "It goes a long way with our customers that these engines are built in the U.S. We wanted a world-class manufacturing facility for our customers on U.S. soil."
