The automotive and off-highway industries are in many ways, about as dissimilar as two markets can be. The products are different, the manufacturing is different, the economics are different and the drivers - both literally and figuratively - are different. But approximately a year after ZF Industries consolidated a portion of its North American off-highway and automotive assembly to Gainesville, Ga., the company is manufacturing powertrain systems for both markets at the same site and the arrangement has proven to be more than a little beneficial.
