A key part of the development of vehicles involves the thorough testing of exhaust emissions. Vehicles from cars and vans through to trucks and large public transport fleets undergo emissions testing over regulatory drive cycles during their development phase. Whilst there continues to be an increasing concern regarding the danger posed to health by the effects of poor air quality, there is a greater recognition of the need to establish the true emissions of road vehicles in towns and cities.
