The third generation Panda is a very different animal to the car that was first revealed all the way back in 1980. While it's still a city car, quality has taken a significant leap forward, and it comes with five doors. Unusually, Fiat chose to produce the new Panda at its Pomigliano d'Arco plant in Italy, whereas its predecessor was made in low-cost Poland. Negotiations between the Italian Government and Fiat meant that the company gave undertakings that it wouldn't close any factories in its native country.
