In early 2010, Dresser-Rand made the decision to step into the gas turbine aftermarket business segment with the acquisition of Leading Edge Turbine Technologies Inc., Houston, Texas, U.S.A. That step quickly turned into a leap with the following Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KazTurboRemont (KTR) in Astana, Kazakhstan, in March and the acquisition of assets of Turbo Machines Field Services (TMFS) in Centurion, South Africa, in April.
