Wartsila Power in Cubes: Engine manufacturer offers pre-packaged liquid- and gaseous-fueled power plants

Erection and commissioning out in the field, somewhere in the world, always meant a risk for the supplier. Such risk is hard to translate into money before the project has been performed. After it is finalized it may be easy to see the cost of the unexpected things that happened, but at that time it is too late to rectify. The more complete a delivery is at arrival at a foreign site and the less work is required out there, the better the control of the project development from a time and cost perspective. Back in 2007 Wartsila introduced their "cube concept" in an attempt to reduce the erection and commissioning work at site.
