Qatargas II LNG Testing Completed: Compressor strings for first of six LNG trains under construction in Qatar now ready for field operation

The 7.07 million tonnes/y LNG trains now under construction at Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, are the largest ever designed. They are based on the Air Products AP-X refrigeration process, boosting the design output from 4.2 to 7.07 million tonnes/y. Qatargas II (a joint venture consisting of Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total) initiated and qualified this new technology.
