LOMBARDINI TAKES BIG STEP IN DIESELS: Italian manufacturer unveils new 1.9, 2.5 and 3.4 L engines for Stage 3b and Stage 4; no diesel particulate filter

Marking a significant step forward, Italian small diesel specialist Lombardini has unveiled the new Kohler Direct Injection (KDI) engine range. With three engine displacements - 1.9, 2.5, 3.4 L - to be launched by the end of 2014, the company doubles its current diesel power offering to 100 kW. The KDI engines are an all new design with zero commonality with the current Lombardini direct-injection diesel platform that has been on the market for about 20 years.
