IVECO MOTORS HITS THE GROUND - AND THE WATER - RUNNING IN CHINA

Late last year, after completing all necessary steps with local and central China authorities, Iveco Motors opened its offices in the city of Shanghai. The policy of the Italian company, now acting under the umbrella of Fiat PowerTrain Technologies (FPT), is that of approaching the local small-and medium-sized OEMs, as well as major municipalities for the sales of technologically advanced engines and generator sets. The Chinese government has started a program to introduce emission restriction in several sectors starting with China 3 standards, similar to Euro 3, with intentions to progress in the future to standards that will have similarities to Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards with the necessary elasticity to allow the local industry to progressively implement production of their low-emission engines.
