Domestic coal output is expected to reach 2.2 billion tons in 2006, and coal demand is forecasted to be 2.15 billion tons this year, from industrial experts' view. Domestic coal imports will further increase in 2006, owing to drop of coal imports customs and slide of international coal price. Coking coal and anthracite are key imported coal, and coal imports is expected to reach 30 million tons in 2006. Coal exports carry on quota management, and are expected to complete 80 million tons. Moreover, coal consumption will further concentrate, while the proportion of coal used in five industries (electricity, steel, oil process, cement and chemical industry) will reach 80 percent.
