A new genus - Takulumena SZLACH. -of the subtribe Epidendrinae (Epidendroideae, Orchidaceae) is described. It is related to Epidendrum L. from which it differs by monopodial growth and basal many-flowered inflorescences, flowers opening in succession.A new species, Takulumena vazquezii SZLACH., MYTNIK, A.ROM. & MARG., is described and illustrated, one new combination on the species level in Takulumena is proposed.
