Alumina capacity(excluding Chalco) in Henan province up to 1.2 million tpy

Industrial survey show that production capacity of a number of alumina refineries in Kenan province excluding Chalco, has reached. 1.2 million tpy this year. The alumina refineries include: New East Hope Group's alumina plant(400,000tpy), Sanmenxia Kaiman Alumnum. Co., Ltd(400,000tpy), Pingdingshan Huiyuan Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd(300,000tpy) and Yima Coal Group's Yixiang Aluminum Co., Ltd(l00,000tpy). All these alumina refineries used local bauxite, called diaspore, as raw materials for alumina production. The diaspore is a unique bauxite resource only in China and hard to be processed. The production cost of alumina refineries using the diaspore is much higher than those ones with Bayer technology.
