Xichuan Aluminum Group Co., Ltd, at Xichuan county of Henan province, was planning to invest 1.2 billion yuan(USD148 million) in construction of a electric power station with capacity of 4.15 million kW, sources close to the situation said, but the detailed timetable is not disclosed. There are abundant coal resources in the local area. The power station will enable the company to reduce production cost and realize the combined operation of coal-electric power-primary aluminum-aluminum semis. Once the project comes on stream, it is expected to bring 5.0 billion yuan of industrial product value and 470 million yuan of pre-tax profits each year.
