The U.S. solar market is set to grow a staggering 119% in 2016 on top of stellar growth in 2015, according to GTM Research in its recently released U.S. Solar Market Insight 2015 Year in Review, published in conjunction with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). By 2021, GTM projects the U.S. solar market to surpass 100 cumulative GWof capacity, adding roughly 20 GWor more per annum. Led by utility-scale plants, 16 GW of solar are expected in the U.S. in 2016, more than double the prior record of 7.3 GW installed in 2015.
