Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Co., Ltd. (Nonfemet) recently announced that its Shaoguan Smelter has restarted Its production after passing the examination, of the provincial and municipal governments and the environmental protection department on February 21, 2006. Antaike called Shaoguan Smelter, but got no official comment on the issue. It is said that Shaoguan Smelter had restarted part of the facilities in January, and Antaike's view is that it takes months for it to fully recover. Nonfemet estimated that 15 million yuan net profit would be lost every month resulting from closure in 2006. Huang Anle, analyst of Guosen Securities said that the influence might not be that serious. Nonfemet was fined over 1 million yuan for the pollution, and it cost a large sum of money to replace the lining of the 20 furnaces before the restart-up of production. In fact, Nonfemet had counted the loss in its 2005 financial statement, since the accident happened at the end of last year, so it will not badly affect the performance in 2006.
