China Coal Energy to invest US$2.8B to develop north China coal mine

China Coal Energy will invest US$2.8 billion to develop a coal mine in northern China as power demand continues to rapidly grow in the world's second-biggest economy, Bloomberg reported. Targeted production from the mine in Shaanxi province is 15 million tonnes a year. The mine has total recoverable reserves of 3.28 billion tonnes.
