Carbon Energy, Chinese firm to pursue Inner Mongolia UCG project

Carbon Energy has been named the exclusive underground coal gasification (UCG) technology partner to Zhengzhou Coal Industry Group for an Inner Mongolian project, Proactive Investors reported. The proposed demonstration project at the Haoqin coal field will be fully funded by the Zhengmei Group. The field has 3-1 billion tonnes of coal and covers 184 square kilometers. Carbon Energy will earn a US$10 million technology license fee payable on success of the project as well as technology services fees for the duration of the project.
