Emirates Steel Launches US$2.4B Two-Phase Expansion, Significantly Increases DRI Capacity

Emirates Steel succeeded this month in rolling out the first steel beams declaring the start of the hot commissioning of the first Heavy Section Mill in the Middle East region at a cost of around US$650 million at its facility in the United Arab Emirates. The company said it can now produce large-size sections, beams, columns and sheet piles. The capacity addition follows large capacity increases in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) capacity.
