The US Air Force announced a challenge to the biofuels industry: to meet the production target of fulfilling demand for several hundred mission gallons of alternative fuels for its fleets of military vehicles three years ahead of schedule, Energy Digital reported. According to Air Force Deputy Assistant Secretary Kevin Geiss, the plan is to have 40 aircraft models certified to run on biofuels by 2013.
