Developers Remain Convinced of Medium-Scale LNG Benefits

In this issue, we learn that two medium-scale (a.k.a. mid-scale) LNG export proj-ects are making headway, despite the industry's challenges in getting projects to the finish line in such places as Sulawesi, Indonesia.Near Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, Liquefied Natural Gas Limited is defying odds and winning support for its proposed medium-scale liquefaction plant on Fisherman's Landing. In its latest quarterly report, Golar Energy voiced a strong endorsement for the project, stating that "the Gladstone LNG Project site at Fisherman's Landing, the mid-scale nature of the LNG plant and all the work undertaken to date, renders [it] with the potential to be developed and commercialized, in a much shorter time frame and at a lower cost per produced ton than other, larger, projects..."
