Cheniere issues US$1 B in senior secured notes for construction of Sabine Pass LNG plant

Cheniere Energy Partners will soon offer US$1 billion in senior secured notes due 2021, Houston Business Journal reported. The company plans to use the proceeds to pay for construction of two LNG liquefaction trains at its Cameron Parish, La.-based export facility. Two years after announcing the project, the company in August 2012 announced the award to Bechtel of the contract to begin construction on the first of two LNG trains, which could be operational in 2015.
