Ukraine advances Yuzny regas terminal

Gosinvestproekt, the Ukrainian-state agency for investment and national projects, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Gas Corporation for an LNG-import terminal at Yuzhny, Interfax reported Aug. 29. The ?735 million (US$940 million) terminal project with capacity of some 10 billion cubic meters of gas (Bcrn, approximately 7 million tonnes (mt) of LNG) per year will be built in two phases: During the first, slated to come online in 2016, a vessel with a vaporization capacity of 5 Bern of gas (3.5 mt of LNG) will be moored at the Odessa port. During the second, expected online by yearend 2018, a three tank, 7 mt a year onshore LNG terminal will be constructed.
