摘要

Lebanon plans to proceed with plans for LNG import terminals despite the presence of potentially large gas prospects offshore, The Daily Star reported. "Everyone in the industry knows that it will take at least eight years to be able to produce natural gas commercially," said Naji Abi-Aad, chief operating officer of Petroleb, speaking at the Lebanon Oil and Gas Summit. "A floating LNG facility, however, can become operational in about 20 months. We should start working on the needed infrastructure today," Abi-Aad said. In order to convert power plants from diesel to natural gas, Lebanon would first have to develop a coastal gas pipeline.
