An appraisement report on bauxite resources in Pakesong area of Laos y has recently passed exam. The exploration project is funded by China Nonferrous Metals Mining (Group) Co.. Ltd (CNMC). The company entrusts Central South University to conduct the exploration on the bauxite resources in Laos. China's aluminum industry is growing rapidly and the production capacity and output continues fast increasing, but the nation is short of bauxite resources. So, it is necessary and urgent for China to establish good relationship with the neighbor countries to jointly develop mineral resources. In 2005, CNMC launched the exploration project.
