Golar sees strength in LNG charters into 2015

Structural tightness in the LNG carrier charter market should continue into 2015 according to remarks made during a May 30 Q1 2012 earnings call by Doug Arnell, CEO of Norway-based Golar Energy Management Ltd. (NasdaqGS: GLNG). Arnell stated that 2015 was an optimal time to be bringing new capacity onto the market — and GLNG's newbuild orders matched that timing. First-generation LNG vessels will be less competitive than highly-efficient new vessels such as Golar's newbuildings, Arnell said.
