The policy of lowering export rebate for some products is under consideration by relevant government departments and it needs to be approved by the State Council before implementation, Zhu Hong, vice director of the Economic Operation Bureau under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), on July 25 said at a press conference. The export tax policy is expected to be further improved in a bid to control export of high energy consumption, severe pollution and resource-type products. The NDRC official stressed that the government will strictly control new projects, especially those energy-intensive projects; rein in blind investment and over-expansion in some industries; uncompromisingly abolish illegal preferential electric power policy(stipuiated by local power companies and authorities to attract investment) in some reas.
