Qatar may aid Iran's gas development

Qatar has expressed interest in helping Iran develop its share of the gas field that the two countries share, according to CNBC. The giant field underwater in the Persian Gulf, known as South Pars to Iran and the North Field to Qatar, is shared by the two countries; at present, only Qatar has exploited its vast resource. Iran suffers from severe domestic gas shortages and sanctions from the West are part of the reason Iran has been unable to turn their share of gas into profitable exports.
