Shell, others to explore New Zealand wells

Shell, OMV, and Mitsui will drill a well off the southeast coast of New Zealand in search of untapped deepwater basins, according to Reuters. Anadarko recendy launched a joint venture with Origin Energy to drill two deepwater wildcat wells off the west coast of the North Island. Shell plans to drill the initial project well in the Great South Basin in 2016.
