H-Energy proceeds with feasibility study on Nova Scotia LNG export

H-Energy, a subsidiary of India's Hiranandani Group, has selected an area on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia to proceed with a feasibility study for an LNG export project, Ecolog reported. The company signed an option agreement for two 300-acre tracts in Melford, Nova Scotia after evaluating several sites. The project would be built in three phases. The first will consist of a single LNG production train with capacity of 4.5 million tonnes per year at an estimated cost of US$3.3 billion. The company says the site's proximity to an existing gas pipeline and deepwater port make it ideal.
