Plan proposed for 500 MW CHP plant at South Hook LNG terminal

A plan to build a 500 MW combined heat and power (CHP) station within the South Hook LNG terminal is under review by local residents, Cogeneration & On-Site Power Production reported. A second round of presentations will include details on how the CHP station has incorporated input from the public into site selection and choice of standby cooling system. The station will reduce the terminal's reliance on gas and electricity from the grid, converting LNG back into a gaseous state, raising the project's overall efficiency to 90 percent.
