India to buy US LNG for US$10.5/MMBtu

UJL. LNG would cost around US$10.5/MMBtu when shipped to India under current pricing conditions. This would be the cheapest LNG ever secured by the Asian country, Economic Times reported. The cost is based on GAIL's 2011 contract to buy 3.5 million tonnes a year of LNG from Cheniere for 20 years. The contracted LNG price will be linked to benchmark Henry hub prices. "Based on today's Henry Hub price, the landed cost of this gas will be around US$10.5/MMBtu," a top Oil Ministry official said.
