Jordan to begin LNG imports from June 2014

Jordan will begin LNG imports from "several countries" in June 2014 following the completion of an import terminal in the Red Sea Port of Aqaba, Jordan Times reported. Although Jordan has yet to announce who its LNG partners will be, it is widely believed that Qatar will play a significant role in supplying Jordan's LNG needs. Although Qatari gas will be more expensive than pipeline gas from Egypt, the supplies will be more reliable. Jordan aims to provide itself a constant and reliable energy source.
