Energy World Corp puts construction of Philippines LNG plant on hold

Hong Kong-based Energy World Corp. has put on hold construction of its proposed LNG terminal and regasification facility in Quezon, Philippines due to concerns raised by the provincial government, Inquirer Business reported. The company is still keen to develop the project. Development of the US$218 million project would be a significant milestone in the Philippines' LNG industry. The construction of the facility in Quezon would allow the further development of the Asian LNG spot market since it is along the international LNG trade routes.
