摘要

Made every day in people's personal and professional lives, decisions are inevitable and unavoidable. Many of them are small, domestic, and innocuous, affecting only the decision maker. Other decisions affect people's lives, livelihoods, and well-being. Many of these are made by our employers. All companies are, of course, concerned with their financial performance and eager to be successful in business. Most of the time, chief executive officers (CEOs) assume that organizational structure is a key determinant in this matter. However, research has found that organizational structure or reorganization has almost no effect - or even a negative effect - on financial performance. What does come across is this: Companies that carry out key decisions better and faster than competitors enjoy an advantage (Blenko, Mankins, and Rogers, 2010).
