摘要

Investigations with 1.425 sows in two farms have shown a frequency of puerperal diseases of 21.6 %, 28.5 % resp. In both farms gilts had a significantly higher frequency of MMA by 5.6 %,11.7 % resp. compared with sows. Group housing of pregnant sows between days 35 and 108 of pregnancy led to a significant reduce in MMA morbidity by 7 % compared with single housing in stalls. Significant differences in the frequency of puerperal diseases occurred between both farrowing stables, between both pen-rows per stable and between different farrowing pens of one farm obviously caused by draught through ventilators and openings in the doors. Puerperal diseases led to an increase in piglet losses by appr. 4 %, to a decrease in body weight of offspring at day 21 of age by 0.24 kg and to a higher loss in body weight up to 3rd day post partum by 7 kg in sick animals compared with healthy sows.
