This paper is in 2 parts. In the first part, orthopaedic treatment measures in acute laminitis are described, with reference to use of a frog support, radiographic examination, increasing the heel height, hoof correction and hoof protection. The second part covers measures used in chronic laminitis. These include hoof correction, hoof wall resection, desmotomy/tenotomy, hoof protection and shoeing.
