Tosti et al.and Garcia Bartels et al. recently reported the occurrence of alopecia areata (AA) in patients receiving anti-TNFa monoclonal antibodies (infliximab and adalimumab respectively).Although A A pathogenesis remains mainly elusive, one of the most widely considered hypotheses is an autoimmune mechanism and the frequent elicitation of biological autoimmu-nity by anti-TNFa agents might be relevant in this setting. We hereby describe a new case of A A aggravation in a patient receiving infliximab along with the simultaneous and previously unre-ported occurrence of multiple halo nevi (HN), a condition where the involvement of autoimmunity directed against melanocytes has already been considered as well#
