Vibratory angioedema (VA) is a rare form of physical urticaria first described in 1976 and characterized by persistent angioedema following a vibratory stimulus. Although most cases are occupation related (such as those occurring in pneumatic hammer workers), cases have also been reported among bicyclists and motorcyclists. It is usually an acquired condition but sometimes occurs as a hereditary autosomal dominant disorder.
